A world-class left-arm fast bowler from New Zealand, Tren Boult is arguably one of the most dangerous new-ball threat in World Cricket. Known for swinging the ball in both directions, the kiwi speedster holds the record for the most wickets (31) in the opening over of an IPL innings. Boult’s IPL journey began in 2015 with Sunrisers Hyderabad, and he has since lent his expertise to Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals. He moved to the Mumbai Indians in 2020 and formed a formidable and lethal pair with Jasprit Bumrah that saw MI clinch the title for the 5th time. After three highly successful seasons with Rajasthan Royals next (2022–2024), where he claimed 45 wickets, Boult made a blockbuster return to MI colours in 2025 for INR 12.50 Crore. He dominated the 2025 season, finishing with 22 wickets and became the team’s leading wicket-taker in the edition. Retained for the 2026 season, Trent Boult’s experience, coupled with his formidable partnership with Jasprit Bumrah, will be a sight to watch as the duo spearhead the Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack as MI hunt their 6th title.
